This year's popular conference breakfast sessions will be hosted by Peach Tree and the Gidget Foundation.

These breakfast sessions sold out fast last year, so please remember to RSVP your attendance when you register for the conference. The cost of attending the breakfasts is included in your full registration fee.


 

 

 

Breakfast Session with the Gidget Foundation

7am – 8:15am Friday 27 October

Led by Dr Vijay Roach, Chairman of the Gidget Foundation, obstetrician and gynaecologist. Dr Roach has been instrumental in bringing about new government measures to provide Australian women with access to free mental health assessments during and after pregnancy. In his conference presentation on the same day, Dr Roach will discuss the new Medicare guidelines and share his professional journey learning about the importance of mental health care.

The Gidget Foundation is a national, not-for-profit organisation that exists to promote awareness of perinatal anxiety and depression. It aims to ensure parents in need receive timely, appropriate and supportive care.

     
 

Breakfast Session with Peach Tree

7am – 8:15am Saturday 28 October

Led by Peach Tree co-founder and CEO Viv Kissane, this session will include special presentations from Queensland Mental Health Commissioner Ivan Frkovic and Ms Sofia Roates. Mr Frkovic will discuss how the QLD Mental Health Commission is supporting community based mental health services for mothers, fathers and children. Ms Roates will share her experiences of recovering from postnatal depression with the support of her community. 

Peach Tree is a peer support organisation that supports and educates new and expecting parents. Their mission is to minimise the impact of perinatal mental health issues through understanding, acceptance and education whilst enhancing self-worth.
